I'll say it. That was a bitch move by Squanto. I wouldn't be surprised if I get banned for saying that, but I feel like it needs to be said and I'm certain THERE HAS to be others out there who feel the same as I do. I'm new here and I'm not trying to raise shit, but honestly if what PP or what I just said gets you banned around here I'm not so sure I want to be here anyways and I'll either go back to lurking or find a new site. People are entitled to their opinion, even if that opinion consists of one thinking a mod is a control freak.

I didn't think Powerplayer's post was that bad, and I thought Squanto's reply was even tamer. Then again with PP's edits, I have no idea what he REALLY said. There's a chance the original posts were much worse than what we can see.

That having been said, powerplayer's somewhat negative opinions are pretty well known, and the number of thread's he's made in that vein have annoyed several members. There is a certain quantity when sharing your point becomes trolling or spamming, which are against the CoC and I think PP has toed that line on a number of occasions.

Personally I don't mind powerplayer. He watches a lot of hockey and brings up some good points, even if he does have a dick way of engaging in a debate more often than not.

This is no way just about this thread. PP brings up points, someone disagrees rationally and respectfully then bam, he get's all butt hurt and starts whining or talking shit. He did it to me. Thankfully I had stats to back up my opinion but it was very childlike and d-bagish the way he came back at me. He's done this to Squanto several times trying to provoke him and I commend Squanto for saying enough is enough. Maybe it could have been done through pm's but then again this is something he has done to others and is a public issue as well.

You won't get banned at all. You're entitled to your opinion.

I will say this. Since you're pretty new here, you don't know PP's history. He has been warned multiple times by other mods for trolling, and stirring up shit with other members. He plays a very passive agressive game; he'll give an opinion he knows a lot of people won't agree with, then they people chime in with their disagreement, he gets all bent out of shape about it and goes off. Since March, he's been warned countless times to stop causing problems, and has his account timed out twice because of it. He was warned the last time that the next time would be the last. Since that time, he's been pushing the envelope as usual. We've tried to be nice because we don't like to ban people, but unfortunately that's what happened.

Out of all the members we have here, he'e the only one that we've gotten consistent PMs about from other members. We have a lot of varied opinions here, but only he draws complaints from all sides.

So, in closing, what PP said wasn't the reason he was banned. It was a consistant, pervasive pattern of disruptive behavior that he's had multiple warnings about, and more than enough leeway to stop.

I'm not a control freak. We have 3 other mods here. I relayed to them what went on, and we have a policy that ban can be overturned if the other mods think it should. If they do, then they do. If they don't, then they don't. You may think it's a bitch move, but I think that's more fair than most message boards.

See I get how PP antagonizes... But I don't think he should have been banned. This kind of incident happens sometimes with regular members. Just my opinion. But what happens happens.

Yeah, rather than try to understand another's point of view, PP always gets antsy when we "shit on him" for disagreeing with us. He took nothing lightly, as evidenced by what he said.
