I know a few guys on the older side of 30 who got into it because of their little kids playing hockey.

In started playing at 18, but really started skating about a year ago is when I decided to skate every week again and get good on ice.

I picked up how to skate in a few months time if that and and now a pretty good skater.

Yea that's what you need, but a 5 week class honestly isn't really enough, if it was two days a week that would be awesome.

I took a learn to play 1 class for 9 weeks and it focused more on learning to skate basics until the last 3 or so weeks when we got to scrimmage and mess with pucks.

How long is the class also, if it's longer than 1 hour it would be perfect, like 2 hours would be great.

The class I took was only 1 hour so it was nothing for me in a workout perspective.

Yea, for the bigger guys it was quite a workout for them, since I'm a smaller and younger guy it wasn't too bad for me.

sorry.... try this on... never got any responses on this one...

... would a new owner, one as passionate as Terry seems to be for hockey and the Sabres breath a little life into Darcy and Ruff? Does anyone think that maybe having an owner like Tom, who is obviously is a good guy and decent owner, but not really as passionate about the game, maybe wares on the GM and coach? Maybe knowing he might be a bit more concerned with the bottom line than the championship?

Could an owner with a pure passion for hockey and the Sabres actually enliven Darcy and Lindy?

You know, it will be very interesting to see how this affects them.

It will tell us a lot about how things were run under Quinn and golisano.

thats my thought!!! And thats why i don't want any house cleaning done.... I want to see what Ruff and Darcy can do with a HOCKEY owner... not just an owner...

I don't know... What if it turns out that Regier is actually a dick?

im not sure, Darcy pulled off some great stuff back in the day... I am very curious to see what he can do with out Quinn and an owner more concerned with winning than the bottom line... need to give him at least a year... maybe two... to see if he still has it...

The problem in past years hasn't been spending money. I hate seeing this BS time and time again. It is how the money has been spent. Too heavy to forwards, too balanced among all lines. That and the players they have drafted/acquired. Is it a crappy scouting job or bad criteria under which the scouts have been asked to apply? Don't know, don't claim to know. I have actually not been appalled by the last two drafts, so it looks like there may be hope there. Now if they can shed the 3M+ third line players and 4M plus 2nd line players and build smart they'd be alright. How they handle the pending Myers issue will tell me what the future of this franchise is. (Myers will be an RFA while they are still saddled with Vanek and Pominville)

Quinn and Regier are both to blame... and in some part Lindy.. Now i think that Regier is completely on the hook himself for those few years that we were right up against the cap. He spend the money in the wrong places (ex. Connolly's Extension) But years like this one regier has 'some' of the blame but you also have to blame Quinn/Golisano for the self imposed cap.. i mean we have 5 MILLION available that's potentially very good / great player. Plus if they could have gotten some kind of deal done to get rid of Connolly, that would be 9 million available. You could really trade or sign anyone at that point without having to worry about the cap.. So really with a new owner i think that we might have to get a new GM.. one that hasn't been neutered by ownership for the past 10 years. I would like to think that we could keep Regier because he has had some great moments but he's also had quite a few bad ones.

If G sells the team, I'd give Darcy and Ruff a year or two. See what they can do. If they are the same team that they have been the last 3 years, then bye bye to at least Darcy.

But I think Darcy could actually improve this team if Quinn was out of the picture.

Bingo. Dreger even reported the possible sale of the Sabres will be a talking point.
