The 200 club level is awesome. It's so snazzy, you sometimes forget you're at an arena.

That actually makes me never want to sit there, haha

It's only like that when you're walking around the club with all the food and the drinks, but when you're sitting in the seats it's the same atmosphere as it is in the 100 level...just with waitress service lol. It's also the best view in the arena.

Hmm...I feel like the Sabres have a enough suites.

suites are a HUGE cash flow generator. HSBC has a less then alot of arenas built recently, but that could be because of the demand.

HSBC arena is a stunningly beautiful facility, but if they lease out a high number of luxury boxes, and could lease out more, and to get some more monies, its a no brainer.

of course, if they arnt at full occupancy, then it doesnt matter. i would imagine they are though.

shoot, they could add a few dungeon suites! that would be AWESOME!

this isnt trashing the team, or city, or facility. just an idea to create some revenue.

The luxury boxes are not fully sold. I think it's upward of 80% or so, but I can't recall the last time I heard a solid number. A good chunk of the ones that are sold are shared.

Yeah, that's the outer wall of the building. Could only add there if you rebuilt the upper half of the building and roof.

yikes. it just seems like they could cut out spaces in that wall, make sure there is some beams left, and add suites. but if theres no ledge, then yeah, thats a no go. i thought there might be a ledge outside. just an idea.

Even if they could put suites way up there, why would anyone want them? You rent the suite for, among other things, the "perfect view". Nosebleed seems anticlimactic---kind of a good news/bad news thing.

Also...

I may be in the minority on this, but I will never understand what's so great about the 200 level seating. If I had all the money in the world, I would be on the glass---or somewhere in the low rows of the 100s. Interestingly enough, the prices for seats OTG and those in the 200's are similar. Given the choice, it's a no-brainer: OTG!

Luxury boxes are amazing. Honestly the view is perfect because you can see the entire ice, and you get food brought to you and any drink you want.

They are awesome to sit in.

the griffins gave us a skybox in 2008-2009 and i took in a game from there with some friends and all my co-workers. open bar, and once again (ill share my drunk curling/company banquet/attempted speech story another time), i took the line between drinking and spending time with co-workers (aka, best behaviour) and fucked it in the ass. i got HAMMERED drunk. like.. almost pissed my pants drunk. great fucking times.

I don't see the appeal of sitting on the glass. Limited viewing angles suck so hard. My favorite seats are 300LVL row 1 or upper 100LVL.

My mom works with a guy who has seasons in the first row of the 300 level. Back when I lived in Buffalo and he wasn't going to the game, he'd just give them away (free parking too!) to my mom. Best seats in the house. You can see everything, no one is standing up in your way.

If I wanna see all the angles, I stay home and watch it on TV!

When you're on the glass, you almost feel like your IN the game. And if anybody blocks your view, it's maybe Malkin or Vanek or Ovechkin or Nash or Richards or.........

Depends where you sit on the glass. Corners suck since the distortion from the glass washes out half of the ice.

I'm a big fan of being like 8-10 rows up in the middle.

I'm a fan of being able to watch the whole rink, but being close to it. Not up on the glass, but maybe in the 200 level and seeing a good view of the whole thing.

I've made it back to Buffalo the past two Thanksgivings. Last year we went to the Hurricanes game and sat center ice in the 200's. Great seats, great view, "club" setting was nice. Seats were a little bigger too, I think?

This year we went to two games. At the Toronto game we sat in row 17 of Sec116 (right in the middle of the zone) and the view was FAR better, IMHO. I'm like a kid down there, being able to see players faces and shit is just incredible to me. In all honesty, row 12 is probably the best, lol. We (the gf and I) will try to sit down there the next time we go.

Let me tell you though, after seeing that hit by Kaleta at the TOR game from 17 rows up, I was "sold" on those seats. Only complaint I have is that I wish they were slightly bigger.

My ideal seats are right above the mesh in the middle of the 100 LVL

I must be an idiot, but above the mesh and in the 100 level center ice? Where are you talking about exactly? Excuse my ignorance..lol.

Oh, and to add on to my post. I worried about not being able to see the other end of the ice while in row 17 and it really wasn't a problem. It was much better than I expected. Sitting just inside one of the blue lines gives you a stunning view of that zone and really a great view of the other zone as long as you're up high enough I would think. Row 17 was almost perfect, just want to try a touch lower next time.

I believe he means he is at a higher altitude than the mesh behind the net in the 100 level.

Sorry, meant glass not mesh. Whoops. Once you're riiight above the glass in the 100LVL, the view is unbeatable.

One plus to being down on the glass is that you really get an appreciation for just how fast the pro game really is.
